Angus may be mellowing and I cut him slack for his response to the dog staring at him. I'd react too.

he does sound mellower.

(is dementia a possibility? ours is deep into it)

Probably not for Angus, who is only eight. Rosie is getting a little batty. She is 14. Good luck with your guy.

once there was a dog across the street that stared at my dog. My dog started barking and wanted a piece of him. The staring dog’s owner apologized and said her dog gave off bad vibes.

it's the staring. it's aggressive. no dog likes it. she should have redirected her dog to break the stare; that would have helped.

Yay, Angus! Maybe an old(er) dog can learn new tricks. Or non-reactive tricks. In any case, Good Boy!

Our fearful dog has gotten over so many of the things that triggered him. But suddenly, at 17 months, he is terrified by thunder. Last night he hid in the bathtub. He HATES baths. But what better place to hide and shake?

our old dog Riley was terrified of thunder, too, and he would hide behind the bathroom door or under the sink. a thunder shirt did not help him, but it has helped a lot of dogs--maybe try that?

I ordered one today. We also gave him the Chill+Out hemp chews our vet had recommended for office visits. They calmed him down but it took half an hour to kick in.
